Our disobedience… a curse to Indonesia

Australian dry outback in drought

Vast areas of Australia are currently under severe drought. Drought is the result of our collective disobedience to the Word of God (Deuteronomy 28:23-24). However, what we perhaps have not realised is that the consequences of our collective disobedience is also affecting our northern neighbour Indonesia.

As reported by the ABC:

“hot, dry air intensified by drought conditions in Australia has circulated north contributing to water shortages in 4000 Indonesian villages”.

The water shortages and extended dry season has decimated rice crops – reducing rice yields from 5 tonnes per hectare to 250 kilos for some farmers.

Due to our collective state of disobedience we are currently not a blessing to our northern neighbour.
